Where It All Began
Kearny, New Jersey • 1950's-60's
In 1956, brothers Bill and Frank Cameron purchased their first shop in Kearny, New Jersey, shortly after coming to America from Paisley, Scotland.
Originally known as Cameron’s Scottish Market, the business was built around the traditional Scottish foods and recipes they knew from home. What began as a neighborhood butcher shop grew over the years, eventually expanding to several locations and serving generations of customers.
From Kearny to Southwest Florida
Southwest Florida • Early 1970s
In the early 1970s, the our family brought the business south to Southwest Florida, opening their first location in North Fort Myers and continuing the heritage that had begun years earlier in Kearny.
In 1992, Cameron’s was moved to Cape Coral, where we remain today. Through the years, the locations may have changed, but the commitment to traditional recipes, quality products and family service has remained the same.
Scottish Highland Games
Highland Games • Since the Mid-1970s
For more than 50 years, Highland Games and Scottish festivals have been an important part of our family heritage. Beginning in the mid-1970s, our family started traveling to events throughout the Southeast, bringing a taste of home to generations of festival-goers.
Today, you can still find our family at Highland Games serving many of the same favorites — meat pies, sausage rolls, haggis, and our traditional fish & chips.
Continuing the Heritage
Three Generations • One Family Heritage
Today, Cameron’s British Foods is proudly in its third generation of family ownership. We continue to make many of the traditional Scottish and British foods that have been at the heart of our business for generations, while also offering a wide selection of imported favorites from across the UK and Ireland.
What began as a neighborhood Scottish market now reaches customers across the country. In addition to serving our retail customers, Cameron’s supplies our products to British shops, specialty markets and pubs throughout the United States.
More than 70 years after our first shop opened in Kearny, our focus remains much the same — quality food, traditional recipes and a family business proud of its heritage.
